7-8-21 Drawing a Day

morning drawings, The dichotomy of Performance vs Practice as an Artist, Uncategorized / July 12, 2021 by Crow Johnson Evans

Spread the love

This daily practice is a joy. Studio Bridge this morning had three photos of amazing artists. Nicolai Fechin, Gabriel Muenter, and Horace Pippin. Nicolai Fechin has been one of my favorite artists since I saw a gypsy painting of his in a Houston museum. Born in Russia, he became American. The reference photo we drew from today makes him appear as intense as his oil paintings. And his drawings are a complete inspiration to me.
