Libraries Glow

Auntie Crow's Corner, Ozark Writers, Real Life Away from the Performances / October 17, 2021 by Crow Johnson Evans

Spread the love

Every book opens into a world where we can get lost. The Pandemic has given many of us the chance to rediscover, discover, and celebrate books. They are not always your grandfather’s musty dry pages in a worn book cover with his cold pipe on top. More than a flashlight under the covers at night, stories are how we consider this life and feel connected to each other..

I’m delighted to have an image I made of the Eureka Springs Carnegie Library included in their current newsletter. What’s happening at your local library? Info@eurekalibrary.org Www.eureka library.org

the only problem with libraries is that I read ’em faster than they buy ’em. So, Amazon Prime.

Reading is up since the pandemic. I’ll tell my author friends to get crackin’. I have four books in mind right now. Kindle sure makes it easy.

Joanie, Thanks so much for saying. I think reading is a new discovery for folks. Books and poetry!

Amen to libraries and a love for reading. (One of my novellas is set in the Rogers Public Library, as you know. It’s now included in “Solving Peculiar Crimes.”) Due to family circumstances I spent much of my childhood reading, and reading has remained a primary form of entertainment throughout my life. Since the release of “Solving Peculiar Crimes,” and the pandemic that has kept me from usual book events in public, I have again had more time for reading. I just finished a Carolyn Hart “Henry O” mystery and am ready to pick another reading adventure! I recently visited the Fayetteville Public Library with a friend and she had an awful time getting me out of a section with mystery novels.

Yes, Radine…. You and your work remain an inspiration for me and lots of others. People don’t think of authors as readers… lost in the worlds others create. Stories transcend age, race, faith, gender, and health…. I think we all get to live in the same pages.
